A Pair of Hands, a Lump of Clay, and an Idea.
Hi sunshines!
My name is Kay Xi, and i'm a casting assistant turned marketer turned chef/potter. After years of doing all sorts of jobs, I've finally decided to chase the thing that's been living in my head for far too long — turning my 1am spaghetti thoughts into actual, tangible things.
My life has always revolved around food. I've always loved cooking, experimenting with recipes, and thinking, hmm, what if I did this differently?
I guess that same curiosity slowly found its way into ceramics. I started thinking about how I could make the things I serve my food on just as fun and interesting as the food itself. What shape would make this dish look better? What if the bowl was a little wonky, or the cup had a weird handle?
And somewhere along the way, I realised I didn't just want to make things that looked nice. I wanted to make functional pieces — things you can actually eat from, drink from, cook with, and use in your everyday life.
So that's where baddaysowhat came from: a love for food (and alcohol), a brain that doesn't know when to stop having ideas, and a slightly obsessive need to turn those ideas into something tangible.
